Lunches and Snacks

Your child has the option of either bringing packed lunches to school or buying hot meals.

Northamptonshire County Council’s school meals service “Nourish” provide parents with a three week menu of healthy balanced meals. There is a choice of a hot main meal, salad, jacket potato meal or packed lunches. Meals should be ordered and the payment made online (please speak to the office for further details). Menus will be sent home, are available from the school office or can be viewed here.

If you are receiving benefits and think your child may be entitled to free meals please contact 01604 236656 or alternatively please e-mail: freeschoolmeals@northamptonshire.gov.uk

All children eat their lunch together in our school hall in 2 sittings.  We actively encourage good table manners and, where necessary, teach children cutlery skills.  As part of our Healthy Eating programme, we actively encourage that lunchboxes contain healthy foods, and request that no fizzy drinks or sweets are sent in to school for lunches.

Children are allowed a healthy snack during morning break – fruit, vegetables, a cereal bar or similar (no chocolate, sweets, crisps, cake etc. please).  We would also ask that you provide a separate small water bottle (must have a pull up sports style lid) for drinks during the day – water only, squash and juice is allowed at lunchtime.  Please note that we are a nut-free school.

Early Years and Key Stage 1 will be provided with a piece of fruit or vegetable each day through the National Fruit Scheme for Schools. They will be able to eat their fruit at morning break. There is also fruit available for our older pupils.

“We are delighted with Molly’s report and all of its positive comments. She has had a good year with Miss Harding and she has been a great teacher”
